Why Borosilicate over Quartz?

Many people ask why Chad’s Terp Trunks or Bubble Caps aren’t made with quartz, like some other manufacturers. And the answer couldnt be more simple…

If you compare the Tensile strength of Quartz, to that of Borosilicate glass, youll see that Boro is 3x as strong! So why would anyone use quartz for anything…?

Quartz is extremely pure, and can withstand the stress of being heated and cooled, continuously. However, quartz is FAR from strong. Think of quartz like the nerd from high school.

However borosilicate glass, being 3 times stronger than quartz, is the perfect medium for carb caps! Who are we kidding… you aren’t heating your carb cap up, nor is your banger getting hot enough to create any sort of thermal shock in the cap. So… why make it out of a much more expensive material, that is not half as strong?

Look fam… if you want to be cool, I can shape you a carb cap from my stickers. It wont work nearly as good as a borosilicate Terp Trunk, but it will look cool as hell. Or, you can save some money and buy a borosilicate cap that works much better, and is 3 times as strong. Choice is yours, fam.
